Anne Vawter page header

Anne VawterAnne Vawter’s fascination with wine began in her teens in Walla Walla, Washington. As her father was discovering new wines in that then-new winegrowning area, he discovered that his youngest daughter Anne was curious about the fascinations of wine, too. Later, combining her interest in winegrowing and her love of nature from growing up on a Dairy Farm, Anne set her sites on becoming a winemaker and viticulturist.

In 2002, Anne graduated with a B.S. in Viticulture and Enology form the University California, Davis, after which she worked for wineries in Washington, Napa and Chile. Most recently, Anne has been fortunate to spend four years with Paradigm Winery under the tutelage of Heidi Barrett.

Anne is now excited to be working with a small number of excellent wineries as their winemaker, helping to produce wines that best express the goals of these fine properties.

Our History
The original scissor press and redwood tanks are still located on the top floor of the winery, built in 1885, utilizing gravity and hand pumps to move the grapes and wine. Joseph Varozza sold wines locally and in San Francisco under the JA Varozza label.

New Release
The 2004 and 2005 wines are now going to be available to ship. There are less than two hundred cases of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah for each vintage. Read more.
